CHURCH BOARD
Our church board is structured with eight voting members. The Lead Pastor is the chairman of each meeting. There are officers for three specific ministry areas: Nazarene Missions International (NMI) President, Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI) President, and Nazarene Youth International (NYI) President. These offices are held for a one-year term and can be held for multiple terms consecutively. The remaining four board members serve for a two-year term which alternates each year (two new board members each year). After a two-year time of service, that person is eligible to run again for a board position after one year.
The responsibilities of the board as stated in the Church of the Nazarene Manual are including, but not limited to the following:
To care for the interests of the church and its work, not otherwise provided for, in harmony with the pastor
To cooperate with the pastor in the development of a written statement of goals and expectations.
To provide for the development and adoption of an annual budget for the church, NMI, NDI, and NYI income and expenditures.
To recommend, at its discretion, to the district assembly, upon nomination by the pastor, any person who desires the Licensed Minister’s Credential or its renewal.
The church board, together with the pastor, shall follow plans adopted by the General Assembly and agreed to by the district assembly for raising World Evangelism Fund and District Ministries
Fund apportionments made to the local church, and shall raise and regularly pay these apportionments.
