Passionate Worship through music with Tanya Singh

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;

Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene is a place where we gather to worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24). Music plays a vital role as part of our worship as it helps us to prepare our hearts to receive the Word of God from our Senior Pastor, Rev. Marty Dennis. Our praise band and praise team singers gather twice each week to pray and prepare songs of praise and worship for each Sunday.
 

Thoughts on worship
Worship is not passive.It is not confined to a building.Music is only one of many avenues by which one worships God. Worship, in it broadest sense, is a lifestyle that continually expresses a passionate love for God. King David gave a song of thanksgiving to the Lord recorded in I Chronicles 16. I get a sense that when David proclaimed, “Worship the Lord in all His holy splendor” he wasn’t just referring to  words sung to music in a church service. True worship of God impacts every part of one’s life, not just what takes place at church.

 
Ministry Opportunities
Adult Choir
Rehearsals are nearly every Wednesday evening at 7:00PM with nursery care provided. Choir is open to ages 15 and over  
Praise Band
Our current rehearsal times are from 6:30 to 7:00PM on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:20AM. Rehearsal for Sunday evening service begins at 5:30PM. We are always looking for more musicians to join us. We are currently in need of a bass guitar player.  
Praise Team
Those who sing on our praise team are asked to first be a member of the choir. Those who sing from week to week are appointed by the worship leader. This is a select gorup of lead vocalists who have a musical ear and/or have the ability to read music. Rehearsal times are usually on Wednesday nights at 6:30PM before choir, 9:30AM on Sunday for morning service, and 5:30PM for the evening service.  
Special Music
 On any given Sunday, individuals whom God has blessed with a vocal or instrument gifting along with having a desire to encourage others through music are scheduled at least one month in advance to sing.  
Audio/Video Technicians
We have a dedicated team who operate PPT/DVD applications and sound; yet, there is an ever-growing need to expand these teams and our capabilities.  
     

In each of the above ministries, the most important pre-requisite for those desiring to serve is that they must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
